TONIGHT'S TV DEBATE
Overslept for a change; getting prepared for 5 hours of nonsense, aka The Republican Candidates Debate”. Fortunately since TV is the best soporific I know I shall be able to tape it.
From 6pm to 7:45pm the minor league candidates will have their chance to make a futile pitch. Perry probably will not be there since I believe that he has already dropped out; could not raise funds. Only Bobby Jindal, Lindsey Graham, Rick Santorum, and George Pataki. Will be on stage so that will be an excellent time to catch up on my nap.
Moderator Jake Tapper has stated that the questions tonight ware formatted in such a manner as to encourage irate response from candidates to the answers of others.
I do hope that every candidate on the podium will have nearly equal time and equal number of questions, something that was lacking in the Fox debate.
Yesterday PT Barnum Trump with the battleship Iowa as his stage again spoke in vague phrases; according to the Washington Post:
Trump came here to give what was advance-billed by event organizers as a "major national security speech," though it clocked in at a lean 13 minutes and was again notably short on specifics.
We’re gonna make our military so big and so strong and so great and it will be so powerful that don’t think we’re ever going to have to use it. Nobody’s gonna mess with us," Trump said
But Trump did offer a hint of his plans on veterans health care, saying the VA system should be entirely revamped and that veterans might be offered the option of health care outside the system because "we have illegal immigrants that are being treated better than our veterans."
I expect foreign policy, economics and the Illegals to be the focal pints of tonight’s questions. It should be worth watching if for only entertainment reasons; we are dealing with real politicians and would-bes whose words are most often crafted to the situation not honest opinions.
