The Pope has gone home after a strenuous week in the US. Now it is Putin’s time, both he and Obama will address the UN. If time permits I will watch on TV.

The latest polls out Sunday find Carson in a tie with Trump; neither will be a factor at the finish line

Rubio and Carly Fiorina are in a virtual tie for third, only Rubio will remain a bonafide candidate. Look for our Gov. Christie to make a gradual rise up to nomination time. I doubt that he will get it, but may settle for #2; the VP.

It is possible that Jeb Bush will make a comeback and fight it out with Rubio; but 11 months to Convention is a heck of a long time.

As for the Democrats Hillary is truly in a precarious position. Although spouse Bill Sunday said that the e-mail flack was much to do about nothing it will snowball with the latest information that she never released correspondence with Petraeus when he was in command.

The law notes that there are five elements that must be met for a violation of the statute, and they can all be found in section (a) of the statute: “(1) Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, (2) by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, (3) knowingly removes such documents or materials (4) without authority and (5) with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location [shall be guilty of this offense].”

I cannot conceive that the SECRETARY OF STATE was unaware that emails to her are not marked classified, that is a label for those who do not routinely receive such communications. Nor is there any evidence that any of the three private servers she used were approved by the State Department as secured. To say that none were marked classified is a copout.

And Christie is getting flack for appointing buddies. Who initiate Bridgegate to the Port Authority?

On Sunday Biden is supposed to have had a private audience with the Pope at the airport. Perhaps Biden was given the moral support needed to enter the race. He has to do so before the first Democrat Debate in October.

Since I will be having family here Monday night up to Thursday morning I most likely will not have time for my computer.

Hallelujah, I found it; May it be worth the hours spent searching.

Where to start? This has been “the week that was” is and will be.

Wednesday was the most holy day in Judaism. The day of reflection, of asking for forgiveness for transgressions both material and virtual that one has committed against others, and even more important for those that others have committed against you.

Thursday was the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha ("Festival of the Sacrifice"),. It honors the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son, as an act of submission to God's command (Wikipedia)

Pope Francis arrived in the US and addressed both Congress and the United Nations. Although he was not “political” or setting church policies; he urged attention of these bodies to the problems of immigration, human refugees, poverty, and the acceptance of all religions.

On Friday President Xi of China arrived in DC for discussions with our President before going to the UN,

Also, this coming week the power aggressive Russian Leader Putin here for the UN will hold discussions with Obama. Will, probably not, Obama take a strong position against Russia injecting itself with fore in the Syria crisis?

The reluctance of the Western nations to take a strong position against the absorption of the Crimea and Russia’s active support of the separationists in the Ukraine as well as indications of increased pressure against the Baltic nations bode ill for the world’s peace. We forget history.

All the above had to share importance with the surprise announcement by Speaker of the House Boehner that he was resigning his post as well as his seat at the end of October.

This is a victory by a strong but minority ultra-right wing of the Republican Party who would if they could hold the nation captive with the threat to shut down the government in order to delete funding for Planned Parenthood in the emergency appropriation bill.

Ironically, Boehner a very devout Catholic had proposed a bill that would include funding as a compromise to keep the government operating.

Unfortunately he has also often been caught between the interests of his conservative wing and an adamant White House that had post fact reneged on promises to him of concessions in order to pass some legislation  His party opposition have never forgiven him. Yes, every day politics in DC takes precedent over the nation’s welfare, and unfortunately our President is an adept practitioner

Woe is me. Once again the abomination that plagues my “smartphone” and computer has struck.

I had almost finished on word for transfer to my blog a long (and good) blog about this past week when for reasons I cannot explain the entire word program disappeared into cyberspace.
Combing my recycle file failed to yield any sign of that document.

I shall try to reconstruct and improve on that which I can remember for posting very late Saturday afternoon.
