Another morning for Pope-mania and then by mid afternoon should have resumed my blog.

If you missed  the Pope's speech to Congress, you missed one of the great talks of all time.

That and computer/smartphone problems created today's vacuum

  1. No mention of Christians being slaughtered in the M.E. No mention of gays being thrown off roof tops in the M.E. I do not think it was a great talk and surely not of all time IMO. Makes me yearn for the days John Paul II. Now that was someone special.

    1. He addressed the slaughter of any group religious or others in generalities. His speech was not one of policy but fundamental human needs.
“All of us are quite aware of, and deeply worried by, the dsturbing social and political situation of the world today. Our world is increasingly a place of violent conflict, hatred and brutal atrocities, committed even in the name of God and of religion. We know that no religion is immune from forms of individual delusion or ideological extremism. This means that we must be especially attentive to every type of fundamentalism, whether religious or of any other kind. A delicate balance is required to combat violence perpetrated in the name of a religion, an ideology or an economic system, while also safeguarding religious freedom, intellectual freedom and individual freedoms.”
