QUICKIE

With slightly over two weeks before the June Primary election the lack of clamor over the internet or even excepting Jerry Green’s mailing has been amazing.

This past week’s reemergence of the veterans’ complaints that they have no meeting place where they have free access is once again a failure for past administrations to keep promises.

The failure to meet the conditions stipulated in the Monarch deal raises several questions.

Was the approval for the building to be “condos” without any mention of rental apartments? Can the alteration to a rental unit property be legal without Planning Board approval?

Is the City paying any fees for that part of the building that was designated to be the Veterans domicile?

There were funds allocated for the purchase of property for a Senior Center whatever became of the budgeted dollars?

What ever happened to the Developer’s claim for funds for funds due for construction of the Senior Citizens Center?

Who on the Council represents the City at the Condo owners Board? Do we get written reports of the meetings?
