If Councilors Rivers, Greaves, Taylor and Reid are still
unaware that the agreement that the prospective buyer will sign when the PILOT
resolution is passed contains on pages 7 & 8; item #6, a total of 9 improvements
that they agreed to make within 24 months of their taking possession of the
property.
The final clause of that article states that if they fail to
meet the conditions the PILOT will be cancelled.
I have failed to find any fine print that Council President
Rivers has said we must read.
Also the same conditions are set forth in the wording of the
Resolution.
I have had no acceptance to my open offer for any one of them to use
my blog to explain their objections.
If this sale which can only be in the best interests of the
residents in Liberty Village and economically beneficial to the city does not occur
due to Councilors' boycott of thee Special meeting and inaction we must seriously question their commitment.
If this should take place it would appear that the issue is not the PILOT but rather political.
Couldn't they have just read the resolution the last time and asked the owner/buyer/city any questions that they had and had this done with a month ago? I know the answer already - I just wanted voters in those wards to remember this time wasting song and dance by Rivers, Greaves and Taylor on election day - Taylor can be the first out the door.
ReplyDeleteIf Rivers was at a meeting in Oct/Nov of last year, why did she not bring this to the attention of the council. She was president, and could have easily starting the conversation.

Housing Authority of Plainfield was allowed to let these horrid conditions continue for over 20 years. Jerry Green, who is head of housing (as he says) did nothing either.
Why did no one pick up on the fact that Reid and Greaves basically blamed the people at Liberty Village for their problems?
Why do people elect them as their representatives? Why does Jerry Green keep getting passes? It is confounding.
