“I don’t recall any candidate for president who ever injured himself very much by not talking” Calvin Coolidge.

Perhaps Donald Trump should learn form a former successful Republican Presidential candidate.

I would elaborate, however I intend to listen to Hillary tonight and have a non-social doctor’s appointment Friday morning.

Instead I will post a few cartoons that summarize this Presidential race to date.

DEMOCRAT CONVENTION #2

Bill Clinton is a superb political speaker. He is also an accomplished orator which is why he spent almost an hour last night delivering an emotional speech that made Hilary appear to be the fairy princess.

Fairy Princess or not, Hillary carries more baggage than any previous candidate that I can remember. Agnew was only on the Nixon ticket as the selected VP.

None the less she is far more attractive than a bombastic, self-loving Donald Trump who can present no specific agenda except the “Wall”.

Before a final decision Trump should be given the chance to present a do-able agenda instead of reaching out to those who practice hatred. He can begin by releasing his tax return information. And specific plans on how to combat terrorism; hot air will not do the job. Nor should we want racial and religious bigotry which he has preached.

As far as Clinton’s how I met my wife love story” I think mine is a better and true tale.

DEMOCRAT CONVENTION TIME.

Yesterday was the hottest day of this year muggy and in the middle of a heat wave punctured by a violent thunder storm around 5:30 pm.  By that time the temperature at the Democrat Convention had dropped.

One thing is obvious; Sanders may not have won the nomination but will be a tremendous force in Democratic politics. He has influenced the platform and the question now will be as President remain so far to the left that the socialist policies she is now espousing will be a negative financial force?

But what was most disturbing was the leaking of the emails hacked by two Russian sites; Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear who seem to have government connections.

Is the Russian Government trying to influence the American election? Quiet likely, but who would they wish to be elected?

Clinton who they have already embarrassed by leaking the DNC e-mails and no doubt have hacked her server when she was Secretary of State. Rump who has already expressed admiration for Putin, and has also remarked that the Baltic States were not worth going to war over a Russian takeover despite our NATO commitments.

This is going to be a dirty campaign from now on to Election Day. Who should we desire? The Clinton of e-mail fame or the Trump of Trump University and “The Wall”?

The subject is the first great USA team, not individuals,  known as the Fabulous Seven"  that 20 years won the gold in Atlanta, and what  they are doing now. To see what I am referring to please scroll down to the section related to Dominique Moceanu. The young gymnastic happens to be our SYD. (great granddaughter).

She will be old enough in 2020 to be competitive if her interests and drive continue. However as they get older they get tired of the demands and lack of time for other social life.

SORRY THE BEST I COULD DO

Monday marks what was supposed to be first session of the Clinton Inauguration by the Democrats as the entitled POTUS.

 If Hypnos who has commanded my time too often this past weeks doesn’t interfere I shall watch this Convention at least the prime time events and Colbert’s post session monologue.

Oh those Clinton haunting e-mails!  Not just the Secretary of State but now those of the Democrat National Committee that have confirmed Senator Sander’s charges that the DNC instead of being impartial as reputed was actively supporting Hilary.

The result is going to be a Convention clouded in animosity with a substantial portion of the party seeking revenge. The resignation of DNC Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz may not be enough to heal wounds.

Not only did the DNC play the religious card against Trump earlier but against Sanders

"At issue is a May 5 email leaked Friday by Wikileaks, in which Brad Marshall, the DNC’s chief financial officer, suggested that the party should “get someone to ask” about “his” religious beliefs. “It might [make] no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief,” the message says, presumably referring to Kentucky and West Virginia. “Does he believe in a God? He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.”

The email was sent to several top DNC officials — CEO Amy Dacey, communications director Luis Miranda and deputy communications director Mark Paustenbach. Marshall followed up two minutes later with this short message: “It’s these [sic] Jesus thing.”

Dacey’s response: “AMEN.” (JTA News 7/24/16)

This is unfortunately just one more episode that is making the choice between the egomaniac dogmatic messenger of doom and hatred and the Queen of deceit and above the law a most difficult one. 

At this point in time the one with the populist backing represents a greater danger to Constitutional Democracy than the known practitioner of political skill.

We do have three months to decide who the lesser evil is. What a sad state of affairs.
