Since the canal locks were about every 1 to 2 Kilometers apart, and to pass the time for a lock to fill and raise the boat in order for it to proceed about 5mph to the next lock where the lock raising procedure would be repeated. many of us took the opportunity to walk the distance on the tow path. A better alternative was to get on the bikes that the barge carried and go down one of the country roads exploring. Time was never a factor.
I while back I posted a picture of a Chateau's moat that we discovered on one of these explorations. Today I have added more pictures from that set, and I will share some with you.
These 4 show the Chateau when we first set eyes upon it, the bridge over the moat which we decided not to attempt to visit the Chateau, a side view showing the moat and the bridge, and a view of the lawn outside the moat with two geese, visible in the first picture, that swam in it.
Out of ALL of the blogging that I read daily within our community, I find YOU to be very fair. When there is an error posted, you have no problem citing the error. When there is an issue you believe in, you zealously express your thought-provoking opinion. You consistently express impartiality, while simultaneously illustrating your personal beliefs in a balanced manor. I do appreciate this standard of poise and professionalism, because it is resoundingly lacking on the blogs of Bernice Paglia, Cory Storch, Dan Damon, and Maria Paglia; who seem to seldom have positive criticisms, but are abounding in negatives.
ReplyDeleteIt comes across very odd to the community of Plainfield that when employees of the city do anything wrong, immediately, these individuals become very negative. When people in the community, as well as the state, has praised this current administration for moving the city in the right direction, these individuals complain in the negative.
Within this last year, we had quite a few New Democrats given high-paying jobs over at the Board of Education, at a time when the Board was cutting staff, as well as not providing our children the services they needed because of financial constraints. These are the same people who the taxpayers of the city of Plainfield voted OUT of office yet still, end up with high-paying jobs over at the BOE, which is controlled by the New Dems.
You may not be aware that the Board of Education has hired two members of the New Democrats, who used to be board members, but we voted out of office by the taxpayers of the city of Plainfield. Simply put, they were voted out of office because the taxpayers felt that they were not going their jobs as elected officials. To cite a brief example of how embarrassing this is, we can equate this situation to President-Elect Barack Obama hiring Pres. George W. Bush as one of his advisors!
So this is why I take my hat off to you Doc, because you might not be aware that the New Dems are wasting our taxpaying dollars in paying the Cory Storchs’, Peliams’, Damons’, and Paglias’ of the world, when these monies can be used to give our children a quality of education. Yet, with all of this covert action, you sustain a healthy blog of fact and opinion.

P.S. Doc, Dan Damon has yet to tell us what he did to earn his $65,000 salary as an employee of the city. Moreover, it should not be served as coincidence that one of the individuals who ended up with one of these high-paying fluff jobs was Annie McWilliams’ campaign manager. Also, if the rumors of Dan Damon pushing Annie to run for mayor are true, well, would she run as a Democrat or as a Republican. I think the community would like to know!
