MONDAY'S MUHLENBERG TOWN HALL

The Town Hall meeting at 7pm at the Senior Citizens Center to report on the consultant’s recommendation for the future use of the Muhlenberg Campus should be of interest to every resident of Plainfield.

It is of such importance that it is unfortunate that our Administration in its love affair for that building has forgotten that this venue although large enough to hold an expected crowd is entirely inhospitable for the handicap due to the fact that parking has to be on the street and most will park quite a distance away.

Why Mayor Mapp and his Chief of Staff could not acquire the use of Washington or Emerson Schools?

I do not doubt that the recommendations will not address appropriately Plainfield’s health care needs. That chance was neglected 6 or 7 years ago.

If there was collusion between our influential elected officials and JFK to prevent a viable but smaller Hospital from replacing the lost institution we will never know. WE do know that there was interest but too many road blocks turned the parties away.

Nowadays the political and economic changes in the delivery of health care have succeeded in limiting hospital beds to an area minimum, the populations needs be damned.

I will try to attend although that will mean I must leave my house no later than 6:15 in the hope that there will be close parking.
