MONDAY SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

Thank goodness the weather will be fine for the Council Meeting on Monday Night, and I was going to post my take on the Agenda; but despite the PCTV listing for Friday at 7pm on the city site; “CITYCOUNCILMEETINGFEB92015”,I made a bad decision to see if  this past Monday’s meeting was the one being shown

Yes it was and I spent most of the evening watching. The public discussion on the “Paid Sick Leave Ordinance” took the first hour and 45 minutes. Since there was many small local employers who objected the Ordinance’s Second Reading was tabled until April.

Tonight’s late hour does not permit me time to study and make any more comments on the agenda. That will be done by Sunday.

The Mayor has called for a Special Council meeting for 7pm on Monday which upon convening will go into Executive Session. The Subject matter is to authorize funds for an audit of the Department of Public Works.

The second item on that agenda which will have to take place in public reads:  “possible consideration of a resolution authorizing approval to award a professional services contract to conduct aN audit WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS & URBAN DEVELOPMENT. “.

Given the tenor of this Council that probably will not take place.
