OZMANIA-NO APRIL FOOL JOKE

Congratulations Dan, Happenings in this city of Oz have been so bizarre that the Armory Story was most believable. But experiences in  the past 6 years  indicated that it could have been true. After all last years $20000.00 radio contract without Council approval is basis for precedent. Wasn't there supposed to be an investigation of that incident? Like many things in Oz it is better to forget than to embarrass.

On the subject of "authorization" in an 4/1/11 comment to my blog" Sidetracked Again"(3/30/11) relating to the High School assembly an anon wrote "The payment to the person is public information. The speaker was paid with public money."

The  unanswered question of who authorized the payment still  remains. Was it done with or without BOE approval at the  last business meeting?  One of the BOE members who has been quoted may have given the erroneous impression  that the speaker volunteered  his time. That is immaterial, what is important is that there is a significant segment of the community that has had unanswered questions about that assembly. The Acting Superintendent and the BOE must clarify all questions or lose  credibility.

On the subject of  "legality" a search of printed legal notices late 4/1/11 failed to find one relating to Monday night's Special Council meeting.  Section 2:6 of the City Charter only requires a "Public Notice" 2 days before the meeting. It does not require a printed legal notice there just posting it on the Internet site(t4/1/11) would satisfy that requirement.

At the last Council meeting there were 3 similar resolutions defeated which were to supply funding for certain divisions until the end of FY11. This one called for the largest amount of money and is suppose to have included  funding for the Mayor's office staff. besides Purchasing and Recreation. Did the Mayor again call this meeting? In the time of municipal crisis is she going to continue her conflict with the majority of Council Members?

  1. Define significant? The interim received 1 email from someone who gives an address from VA and no name. That reeks! You and Dan, Maria - significant. Your commenters significant - I think not! At least the MP asked the CSA directly.

  2. 12:49AM,What is "the interim"? As to the email from Va. a identification name was attached, therefore I posted his comments out of a courtesy to him. I am posting yours only because you took the time to read y blog.

You can look up the definition of significant in the dictionary. Suffice to say that is more than a few(look that up) that are willing to express themselves not anonymously.
I must confess that I am unfamiliar with "the MP".

  3. Why would the Military Police contact the Confederate States of America?

  4. If the speaker(s) were paid, let's find out exactly who, why, and how much. Are they any more effective than Snooki might be? Can the BOE clear up the innuendo? How many emergency 'take-action' meetings can one community take? Is it me, or does it just seem like we're prone to being taken in by hucksters selling magic elixirs? Oz indeed. A pair of ruby slippers in every closet, along with everything else.
