POTPOURRI

A quiet Halloween weekend in the Queen City. Only two reported shootings and no known hits. Also 1 vicious "bar related" killing. Otherwise life went on as usual.

I have emailed my "Open Letter" to addresses which are suppose to be delivery sites to the two individuals. Typical New Jersey and intermediate box is used although an email box for the individual would still have all mail reviewed and triaged which is the present process. That could not happen in NJ since it would be too simple.

I hope the Council will have the backbone to pass a strong reproach to DLGS Director Neff's ultimatum in which for practical purposes he is destroying their Fiduciary responsibility.

I can not understand Councilor Burney's position that the DLGS Director's threat to fine the Council if they in the course of exercising their legal responsibility of "Consent" find in their due diligence process that the nominated individual is not qualified is justified. This Council has not been a rubber stamp out of fear.

  2. The council should not waste their time or ours responding to the state over the threatened fining. Just concentrate on finding a way to use the publicity to convince the administration to find and appoint a CFO.

  3. I have suffered through UVA football from the day's when VMI's Muha brothers, and "Choo Choo" and "Snuffy" ran at will through the defense. I gloried whem they were #1 in the nation for three weeks before Georgia Tech beat them in the last few seconds and went on to be co #1 in the nation. Most of the Welch era was good and the number of NFL player's has been outstanding. Although, they almpst blew the Miami game they may be on the way back. The players do have to go to classes unlike SEC teams.

  4. Unfortunately what you see is what you get from the state. They have enough of their own problems.
