This quote is from Jerry Green's Page of Sunday Aug 12.
"Solaris did not make finding potential buyers a top priority, so now we must. It’s clear that keeping the license active won’t affect Solaris’ plans for closure: they’ve already essentially downsized services at Muhlenberg and have begun moving out equipment. We’re only asking for this extension in the status of the license to give potential buyers the time that they need."
He also stated that the Mayor was in conversation with a potential hospital operator and that he himself has had contact with two others.
Obviously at this point their identities must be kept a secret until they have completed their due diligence process. It would not be unethical for us to know if any of these hospital corporations were ones contacted by the BUY MUHLENBERG or POP groups.
If the Assemblyman, the Mayor, and the Council have not followed up on those contacts we should be given an explanation. The Assemblyman has a perfect vehicle for mass local communication through his blog .
The Assembly man in a recent posting has the following quote about his well intentioned bill A2607 which was just signed into law;“Local hospitals have a responsibility to serve the needs of area residents first and foremost,” said Coutinho. “Decisions regarding how health care is delivered should not be made in a vacuum – the local community deserves to have a voice in the process.”
I would hope that he will remember this and include the popular public leaders in any determination of a new occupant in the Muhlenberg campus. Political affiliation or personal dislike should not be criteria. This is important since so many have indicated skepticism about JG's motives and statements.
(8:00 AM) Both local papers carry articles identifying the potential investor. This one may appears to be more legitimate as a hospital operator then a real estate entrepreneur type. Piscatelli's plan, as reported, seems nebulous as far as the hospital is concerned.
I do not have a positive opinion about Michal Nudo. My personal "due diligence" turned up a Michael C Nudo,an :Enterprise Solutions Specialist at ASNA, Inc. a Blue Phoenix Company. He list himself as a software specialists This individual has been a big contributor to Senator Manandez's campaigns. I did not find his track record in hospital administration
And, what has happened to David Schwartz, has he dropped out of the picture or because he entered via Olive Lynch's "Buy Muhlenberg group been unjustifiably ignored?
Would it not be wise for the city to seek a legal stay on implementing the requirement for Solaris to surrender the MRMC license? In an emergency could POP act in the public interest?Weis continues to give the impression that Solaris will waste no time in burying Muhlenberg as a competitor..
