The Times used to be the impartial source of “all the news
that is fit to print” For several years now it has taken to editorialize.in its
news articles. It is important to also read or listen to the other end of the news
spectrum, which is why I also read the Wall Street Journal. I also subscribe to
electronic sources of the news.
That is why I also include reading internet reports from NBC News,
USA Today, and Foreign Policy. FP has reported that the so called reported
Trump undercutting Secretary of State Tillerson over diplomatic talks between
us and North Korea as reported in the Times and repeated in other sources innocently
or intentionally misinterpreted statements by Tillerson. Accordingly to FP
there has been no contact for talks although Tillerson had said that he would
listen if NK had so desired.
It is true that there have been discord between Trump and
Tillerson over other matters but the former has claimed he has no intent to
resign and has not acknowledge that he called
SOPUS a “moron”.
Of interest is this quote from FDP:
“War, as Clausewitz so memorably put it, is the continuation
of politics by other means. Strikingly, the United States under its
Nobel Peace Prize-winning president has been pursuing war itself by other means
over the last few years, a campaign that has blurred the lines of legality and
lethality, technology and weaponry, as it has spread from Afghanistan to an
ever-widening swath of the planet. Which is why we’ve devoted this, our third
annual War Issue, to the question of Barack Obama’s Secret Wars. From drones
that rain death down on Pakistan’s tribal areas to the collateral damage of a
“war on terror” that’s still not over in the Horn of Africa, we may all come to
look back on the Obama years as a definitive chapter in the spread of this new
way of war.”
Be open minded and consult as many diverse sources as you
can before making a decision.
