We can complain about many things in New Jersey including
the weather.
But what do we really have to feel bad about. We have four
seasons, not just too hot and too cold. We can look forward to autumn’s foliage
and spring’s greening and flowering. There is summer’s shore time and cookouts,
and winter’s slush and occasional good sledding snow. What other part of the
country can have such a changing ambience?
Florida, the sunshine state has more than its share of
hurricanes.
Arizona has summers with long stretches of 100 degree temperatures,
and either water shortage or flash floods. The Pacific Northwest may also have perfect
four seasons but it lies in the Belt of Fire Pacific region and has active
volcanoes as well as earthquakes, and in its mountains blizzards and
avalanches.
One could live in the Midwest or the Prairie States if one
did not mind the tornadoes or the droughts and dust bowls, or the spring
floods. If we complain of snow we should instead try to endure the winters in
that part of our nation.
Yes the North East may be the best. We do have occasional
heavy snow storms but not a winter of not seeing the ground from November to
May.
We may get a hurricane once every few years or flooding along rivers.
We do not have to worry about Paradise’s aka California’s forest
fires, floods, mud slides, or wondering if the next earthquake will be another
of the frequent small almost weekly mild ones or the BIG one.
In fact the worst thing about New Jersey is our politicians
and their self-serving politics.
