Some highlights from the 2013 Auditor’s report.
In their introductory letter the Auditor notes that the opinions stated were based on the city’s
internal controls. In other words it is no better than the data provided by the City.
They go on to say that there is are significant deficiencies
which include the purchasing division.
Included in their findings and recommended for correction the following.:
Purchase orders from prior years are still open in the Grant Funds.
Purchase orders should be reviewed periodically and canceled if no
longer valid.
Not all purchases’ cumulative expenditure were approved in the
Council minutes. In other cases the expenditures exceeded the amount approved
of the minutes.
Required IRS 1099s forms were not always filed for
unincorporated vendors’ payments over $600.
The audit revealed that the registrar and recreation
departments did not always turn monies over for deposit within 48 hours of
receipt.
Almost all these have been on the Auditor’s reports for the
past few
years. With a CFO on board I am
sure that the slap happy fiscal policy of the SRB Administration will be a
thing of the past; the Council willing.
actually Doc.. according to a least 3 of the 4 we know they had NO issue with the sloppy accounting issues of Sharon.. in fact, they'd go back to it in a heartbeat if allowed.. I'm sure the sloppy fiscal measures were the fault of Storch, Williams and Mapp.. not Sharon..she's the victim here I'm sure lol

ReplyDeleteyes... because fiscally inept management has everything to do with bias.. you are most correct. I don't believe people who couldn't manage themselves out of a wet paper bag should be in charge of millions of dollars or other peoples financial well being... red, brown, black or white.. whatever you want to call her..whatever you'd like to classify her as.. unless you are living off Jerry's Gravy Train there is only one way to finish up your classification -- FISCALLY AND MANAGERIAL INEFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP STYLE.... if that's racism.. you're a bigger moron than she believes she isn't. And it includes her cheerleaders on City Council.
Delete11:13 pm. How and why do you defend the unacceptablr fiscal practices of the Robinson-Briggs administration.Since you read my blog and I thank you, you cannot be ignorant. The only explanation would be that in some way you have benefited from her years.
