Three more days until the shortest day of the year, after
that it will be all uphill for the next six months.
Four more days before the Oh Hellers descend upon my house for
the semi-annual tournament.
Ten more days before the New Year. Ten days in which outside
pressures will most likely prevent writing this blog; but do check if either
local, national, or international happenings might merit some comment.
In the realm of trivia did you know that the Sochi Game’s
Olympic Torch has travelled further than any other torch in the history of the
games.
It has had the most flameouts, I believe 12 so far, and once
a cigarette lighter was used to relight it, not the backup flame. Two additional
shutting of the flame took place on a trip under water, and o of course on its
visit to the Space Station.
Sochi by the way is at about the same laditude as Boston. It
is and was a Soviet workers summer vacation resort. It has a Stoney beach not
sandy like our shore.
