NOTHING SERIOUS

We may or may not be having the STORM Saturday, but snow is in the forecast. I get confused when the TV weather savants say North and West of I187.  in describing the  expected amount of snowfall. Plainfield is North of 187 but also East when it swings to run north to the NY Throughway. How do we figure?  Jersey is either east or west of I187 but never significantly north or south beyond Bridgewater. Please clarify for this old brain.
I know it is I287.
For the last few days I have been too serious and perhaps discouraged about our nations health care policies coupled with the economy. Discouraged because few seem to give a damn. We have a society that takes and wants but is not willing to give. The majority feel they are owed or better stated "entitled" and a  bunch of politicians that are willing to cater in order to stay in office.

This unknown cartoonist  has best captured the relationships between  the weather and society.

Stay warm over the week end and be sure there are no outside outlets near your snowman.

  1. I'm assuming the cartoon was political in nature not weather related..

  2. Rob, I thought neither political or weather; perhaps social or just fun.

  3. There does seem to be a political undertone: red states vs. blue states, perhaps?

  4. Although part of it travels roughly E–W from Staten Island to Bridgewater, the majority of 287 is SW-NE to Mahwah, just this side of the New Jersey Highlands. Taken in context North and west would mean Hunterdon, Morris, Warren, Sussex, etc.

  5. Hello Old Doc,
Discouraged? Sure, if we focus on the media. Let’s take a few moments to focus on the TANAK, the Torah, the Nevehim (the prophets) and the Ketuvim (the writings) and we will find reason to rejoice. Think only, if you will, 1948. The most significant of all Biblical prophecies fulfilled right before our eyes, the birth of the nation Israel, and so much more if will just be available to see. We will read the end of the story, we win.
