The items that will need discussion Monday night are:
- · Williamson’s tete’ a tete’ about the PMUA. Unfortunately I expect only a few pointed questions from the Council and pats on the back from certain administration supporters.
- The Youth Baseball League. It will be of interest to know who is actually running the program. If there is input from the people.
- The plans for this year’s “4th of July” celebration.
There are no new or old Ordinances proposed which leaves
13 resolutions; two being the reappointment of members of the Planning Board
and the Zoning Board. No new members are proposed for either board which I do
not feel is in the best interest of the community.
This time there were three responses to the RFP for
Depository of funds; Investors Bankcorp (the present designee), PNC Bank, and
TD Bank. No details are available as to the responses or why Investors was
selected over the other two. Or what the twelve criteria were.
A Resolution
approving paying Senior Center’s condo fees of $2750.00 a month or $33,000.00 annually
to Dornoch is on the list. Is not the Center as a Municipal property exempt
from City Taxes? If so should not that space in the Monarch be exempt? Is this
taken into consideration of the City’s condo shares?
The City’s sloppy or lack of fiscal controls is
reflected in the following resolutions;
- one designates Custodians for petty cash funds of the Senior citizens, the Fire Department, and Police Department. It is questionable if any of the people named custodian are still around, For example the Custodian for the Police e Departments petty cash is a the Police Chief; a position that was dissolved 7 years ago.
- Another closing two unused petty cash funds.
Once more 4 insurance packages that are “being extended
for a year" instead of having been subject to RFP as a resolution passed perhaps
two years ago requires.
That pre-cast refreshment stand is back again. A
resolution awarding a contract for $96,050.00 to Tec-Con the 3rd
lowest bidder. Of interest the lowest bitter about 15K was disqualified because
the required lisenced plumber is in-house and is not a 10% owner in the firm as
New Jersey Law requires.
This building for which a contract was signed by ??Recreation?? before being submitted to the Council for about 75k and presented as a turnkey operation will cost near 190k. All questions about the process aahve nevere been answered or investigated.
All will make the business agenda by majority vote.
Doc c'mon... Why so negative ???
ReplyDeleteIT'S ONLY MONEY !!!
I mean... you can't it with you.. You might as well be making someone who's connected in Plainfield rich, right ???
You should honestly sit down and thank the good Lord above you've got hard working honest Democrats watching your back in City Government.
Could you imagine how much more of a rip off things would be with Republicans ??? WOW... I mean that $200,000 concession stand would probably have cost $500,000 if you had those rich wall street banker types running the show... ! The free Senior Center would probably be costing double what it's costing us now.
All I have to say.. is THANK GOD we've got the Dems in Plainfield watching the bank.... whew.. we are lucky. More of you ought to appreciate them!
Here we go with the Shady Sharonda show again. Let's see how the four stooges handle this meeting. I wonder if the council president will continue to be obviously biased towards Sharon and hostile to the people of Plainfield. I could buy a nice house in many nice neighborhoods for the kind of money for one concession stand. Bring in a guy with a truck and we'll be fine, thank you.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is an oportunity to ask Councilor Executive Director Williamon a number of things:
ReplyDelete1. What is his view of the $1,00,000 settlement.
2. To explain the current dispute with britton Industries and as part of that how under his watch the PMUA could have entered into long term contracts for handing waste when the PMUA did not have a contract of equal duration for disposing of the waste? How much is the PMUA likely to get stuck for?
3. What is his interpretation of the Statute which restricts Commissioners compensation, consisting of both direct and indirect compensation, to $4500 in light if the fact the Commissioners are, and have been, receiving a 20K compensation package?
4. Why does the PMUA refuse to show the calculations which proportion the costs between Household Solid Waste Collection and Shared Services? Bill Kruse
