It is true that we now have a City Treasurer who is supposedly a qualified CFO but not hired in that position. Why this happened may have been explained to the Council but the public has been denied knowledge.
The Purchasing Agent's office remains unfilled; another example of how this administration is careless when it comes to financial management
All of a sudden the Director of Public Safety has found grants from 2009,2010,2011 that have not been used for the purpose they were received. And we are going to spend 83k from a over 400k trust fund which I am sure most Council members never heard about, or who the trustees are.
The last two Council's have blown hot and cold about our fiscal management, but never pushed to an resolution because their could not be a super majority vote. Next year the Council majority will consist of Mayoral supporters and unless the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs
Division of Local Government Services/ Local Finance Board would take an interest there will be no improvement.
What will you do about this?
Uhhh...as a "good" citizen in Plainfield I should keep walking in blindly to the voting booth and voting for "D" right ??? I mean, The Mayor, Reid, Rivers and Greeves have worked tirelessly for the benefit of the people of the city and for fiscal accountability. I think the choice is clear... Just like Mapp and Storch preach.. VOTE THE PARTY LINE!!!
ReplyDeleteI mean, it's got to get better eventually right??
We seriously need to not vote for Sharon again and get rid of the butt kissers: Reid, Rivers, and Greaves. I don't think Vera has ever had an original thought in her life and that's why she was put in as a replacement. Heaven forbid if we can get council members who can think outside the party line.
ReplyDeleteBob, Vera was elected to fill an unexpired term. Temporary appointments are until the next general election.
ReplyDeleteYour's and Rob's disappointment with the present administration is shared by many but obviously not by a majority of "voting" Plainfielders. Your efforts should be directed at getting those who do not chose tro vote to the polls at election time.
Doc........
ReplyDeleteHow can you convince the average voter to change their mindless voting habits when the very "opposition to the RDO's" can't change their's and support these people come election time??? It won't happen anytime soon.
I'd love to see Mapp, Storch or Damon .. 3 of the more prominent vocal new Dem's who LOVE LOVE LOVE to crucify Jerry Green but couldn't pull the sense amongst the 3 of them to support anyone or anything that doesn't have the magic letter "D" next to it no matter how necessary and needed the change may be, stand up for what's RIGHT for the people of Plainfield.. WON'T HAPPEN.
Mapp and Storch with their whole "BATTLE and CHANGE FROM WITHIN" strategy ( wink wink , nod nod )is akin to the Log Cabin Republicans.
