AN ELUCIDATION

Yesterday in a short “blog” titled Is There a Problem?” I paste two comments; one that came from one of my postings and the other from a Plaintalker II post. Both were anonymous and I suspect that they were written by the same person.
In reply yesterday’s there was another anonymous comment that disputed the so called claims and accused anonymous #A as being “Your anonymous commentator is none other than the person that holds a recreation title, but works in another department”. No reason was given why such an individual would make such statements.
As I wrote:” One of the problems with posting anonymous comments is that they may be fallacious as well as malicious in intent regarding charges of improprieties. Likewise rebuttal comments also anonymous have by themselves the same degree of validity; zero. It is hope that some identifiable person with knowledge will respond”
To clarify the only purpose in posting unsubstantiated charges by unknown individuals is that if there is any degree of truth or complete falsehood involved someone in authority or with knowledge and willing to back “his” statements with his name would reply.
The alternate to not posting accusative anonymous comments is to perhaps ignore the possibility of some inappropriate or illegal action going unscathed. The danger is of course one of a person being falsely accused. That can be prevented if deceptive charges are rebutted, preferably not anonymously since under such circumstances there would now be two unsubstantiated documents.
One solution can be a signed comment with the request to keep the name confidential. That would protect whistle blowers. Meantime, I shall continue to post all comments that do not cross the line into vulgarity or obvious vindictiveness and are germane to that posting.
