It is obvious that locally we have no statesmen involved in political matters.
Monday night’s meeting last too late to post anything about it except to note that it was the Recreation/QCBL squabble that prolonged the meeting. I will post again either late today or tomorrow on the meeting..
In the mean time while posting about the Candidates for the coming Democrat Primary Council seats I had thoughts about what strange bed fellows we have this election.
It was H.L.Menken who said “A professional politician is a professionally dishonorable man. In order to get anywhere near high office he has to make so many compromises and submit to so many humiliations that he becomes indistinguishable from a streetwalker.”
That is probably why three weeks before poll day there has been almost nothing for or about any of the four candidates even the voice of that outspoken anti-Republican; the defender of Democrat idealism has not demeaned either of the non-line candidates.
And how about the almighty “line”. Except at general election time when the Party right or wrong must be defended and brought to victory; a time when sanity is essential one would never expect Green and Mapp to be comrades, yet Mapp has the party line for the 3rd Ward.
And who is his running mate? None other than the good friend and religious motivator to Mapp’s hated adversary the Mayor. You should have heard the two at Monday's Council meeting.
To make a more comical aspect to the election,, the Mayor is backing Abdull-Haqq who has been the object of Green’s ire.
Politics does indeed make straing bedfellows. Having said that, Brown and her coziness to our mayor has many people concerned and aware that we don't need another Sharon lover to muck up the Plainfield waters any more than they already are. As people become more aware of Brown's closeness to the mayor it will be hard for that party choice to win. Not all of us on the local Democratic Committee want her and many will make sure we campaign against any Sharon devotee.

Yes politicians do make strange bedfellows, especial when they are self-serving and we have their supporters helping them along with fabrications to further their goals. I believe the voters in Plainfield are sick and tired of the lies and scammers that continue to support some of our local political leaders in hopes of getting them re-elected. As far as the Mayor allegedly supporting Haqq, who started this untruth? Just because you see several sings on the same street the Mayor lives does not mean she is a Haqq supporter and if she was doing so in secret, then what kind of secret is it when everyone is blogging about it? I see several Mapp signs on my street but he certainly doesn’t have my vote. I think that we all need to stop trying to mislead the public to show favor over one candidate and let each stand on their own merit. If you don’t like or endorse a candidate then don’t start spreading lies to fool the voting public. We all know where the Mayors loyalty lies and it certainly isn’t with someone like Haqq that clearly opposes the puppet master. The only person I think the Mayor has come out publicly for is her spiritual leader (Brown) and that is her choice. We should not assume anything else. Three of my neighbors has Tracy Brown signs on their lawn but she doesn’t have my support. On another note, Anna McWilliams has truly turned out to be a big disappointment. She certainly has talked the talked but has made no notable or sufficient contributions to Plainfield since being elected. So when we start blogging about our upcoming election, let’s be honest and accurate in our post.

2:34 The other subject you mentioned is Councilwoman Annie McWilliams . I differ with you; she has been the one breath of fresh air in the petty politics of Plainfield. I do not blame her for not seeking reelection.There is so much wrong with Plainfield politics and government that no idealist can survive and preserve their sanity.
