ABOUT ELECTION RESULTS.
For this lifelong resident of Plainfield; Tuesday was a sad day. Not because my choices lost their elections, since I have known that to happen all too frequently.
Once again 75% of those who could have had an impact on how the city prospers did not give a damn.
What took place was expected in the 1st Ward, I am still convinced that the best candidate as expected did the worst since he had no power base.
Toliver won in a landslide
The closeness of the 3rd ward race was no surprise, although the end result was. There is still a possibility that those not enamored with Taylor could pack the Republican ticket in that ward in November.
Williams beat Ege by 5% points, the ward breakdown was not available.
This election will not change anything in OZ; just one new player and perhaps a duller Council. Poor Cory he is now outnumbered 6:1 with Reid leaving.
9:45 am: there seems to be some misunderstanding; I did not mean 1 white hat vs 6 black hats (good guys?//bad guys); but 1 Male and 6 Ladies.
I will try to analyze the results either later today or on Wednesday.

ehhhhhhhhhhh....not so much with the poor Cory... outnumbered or not... Pulling up his posts of "VOTE DOWN THE LINE, ALL DEMOCRATS ALL THE WAY" are far too easy... you get what you ask for in life.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good thing for Mapp. The council now has responsibility for telling citizens why taxes will be higher next year since they felt we could not afford .70 a month the help rebrand the city.
ReplyDeleteAnd, on the good news for Vera, she will have a pal on the council.
THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN
ReplyDeleteI agree with 9:42. If taxes go up or services diminish it falls on Jerry's people. No one really sees them as independent thinkers, as we all know who pulls their strings , no matter how much they bellow otherwise. I do have hope for Rev. Brown who seems to have some morals about doing what is right. In the end, when things go bad for the city the blame falls squarely on Jerry's head and I hope he reads this and gets his act together. Its about time he started doing something to make Plainfield better.
ReplyDeleteBob Bolmer
Bloggers you are the ones whom have made Assemblymen Chairman, and Union County Chairmen Green popular. Thanks to you guys you lost the election. Job well done
ReplyDeleteRob makes an excellent point. Both parties asked for party loyalty. Not loyalty to competency. Then a year later, the same Cory Storch will ask you to vote for Gerry Green.
ReplyDeleteAll of you including you Doc are all the same. "Blind loyalty or you are a thug..." isn't how I vote.
false accusation 12:14. I have always bee an advcate of voting for the best candidateo n the party line. Read my blogs..
DeleteYes both Parties want blind party loyalty, Not even at the primary should that be so.
Doc has never said that and he has agreed with me on MORE than one occasion that Storch and Mapp wave the party flag out of the blue and yes, tell you to vote for Jerry to fight the evil Republican presence in Trenton, as he is the BEST candidate...
Deleteand I'm far less worried about incompetent Republicans when we have the proven track record on city council with Jerry's Kids...get rid of them and put a Republican village idiot in their place and at least they aren't tainted by Jerry's touch
