In yesterday's 'Clips" Dan posted a link about a duCret School of Art video "which had been "flogged" by Paul Mulshine. It brought back memories of 40 years ago.
Jean Shepherd wwas a nightly must raconteur on WOR. His stories were most often about his growing up in a suburb of Chicago. His was a humorous 30 minutes. Besides his radio stint her also appeared at a downtown NYC club 'The Limelight" wh ich catered to an under 30 age group. His performances there were packed,
Shepherd had a local connection. He was a friend of Dr. Frank Wald who was the superb radiologist at Raritan Valley Hospital in Green Brook. At least twice Shepherd wast he a pro bono attraction for fund raisers for that delightful hospital. Shepherd was an icon of a good era in life.
