Dec. 7 was the 76th anniversary
of Pearl Harbor, the sneak Japanese attack that destroyed America’s Pacific
fleet and flung us into WWII... Only 9/11 had a greater loss of life in a
single day enemy sneak attack, and there is still a substantial portion of our
population who bitch about our response.
Dec.7,1941 was one month to the day that I had been married.
Dec. 7 2017 was also a day of
infamy when the Planning Board approved an added agenda item not on the city
sire that am (according to Nancy Piwowar) that will permit 120 residential apartments
within
A year on the Muhlenberg site and perhaps
within 5 years some type of “medical” facilities” I thought that our Mayor had promised
that the residential units would be secondary to needed health care facilities.
Shades of Donald Trump’s believe me
promises and actual contrary actions. Of course even though there are records
DT denies ever saying.
Are Mapp and Trump sole mates? I
know there are differences; one is POTUS while the other is only Mayor of
Plainfield. One has an multimillion outside business which he still has active
input through his sons; the other only has a full time job as the Director of
Finance and Qualified Purchasing Agent for the City of Orange Township. Both are
however masters of the con.
Trump has just verbally recognized Jerusalem
as the capital of Israel. Disregarding the backlash that it will create in the
Arab world not to mention the entire world. He is partially keeping his
candidate’s promise and satisfying some of his base. He is also creating a turmoil
that he hopes will distract attention from the Russia interference probe which
will involve his sons and son-in-law and perhaps himself. Shades of Nixon and Watergate.
Mapp's con is not as grandiose. He
only wants to almost double his compensation and at the same time has proposed
as a sop a 150% increase in what the Councilors receive for doing less than
their predecessors.
Mapp has a bigger and more
extensive staff including a Special Assistant, a City Administrator, an
Assistant City Administrator in charge of economic development, Good
functioning Department Heads, than any previous Mayor yet he feels he is undercompensated.
Part of the scam is the Muhlenberg
redevelopment plan that was up for hearing Thursday night before the Planning
Board. That plan is mainly for apartments with vague references to medical use
which MAY contain offices etc. and an ER.
The raises will be up for approval
at the combined Council Meeting Monday night.
I would like to attend but may not due to weather and anticipated lack
of parking.
Perhaps a unified concerned citizen’s
group can get injunctions blocking these criminal raids on the public funds.
They will need a pro bono legal staff since the costly legal actions will be
funded by both Administration and Council resorting to the City attorney
resources to defend their actions.
Yes we will have to pay, unless the
courts decide otherwise, for legal action against ourselves. The use of
government funds to defend illegal actions or personal atrocities has been
documented but not reported in the Trump Administration as well as that of
Nixon and Clinton.
