BLUE MONDAY

The weekend is over, the 4 teams for the national (college football) championship have been chosen and much to my grand-son in law’s anguish Ohio State got the shaft in favor of Alabama.

The list of prominent male sex abusers continues to grow. The latest is Metropolitan Opera conductor James Levine.

But all continues to be status quo in this nation and the world. Our xenophobic supremacist President has official decided that his politics is worth supporting a purported pedophile. Monday am he supposedly tweeted: "Democrats refusal to give even one votes anguishfor massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama. We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more. No to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet," Trump tweeted in the first of two posts.
"Putting Pelosi/Schumer Liberal Puppet Jones into office in Alabama would hurt our great Republican Agenda of low on taxes, tough on crime, strong on military and borders...& so much more," Trump added, referring to Moore’s opponent in the race, Democrat Doug Jones. "Look at your 401-k's since Election. Highest Stock Market EVER! Jobs are roaring back!"

When the storm hit the fan, Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd, claimed that he wrote that tweet. This is the same lawyer who opined several days after a Trump tweet "I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI” The tweet caused an uproar in Washington because it suggested Trump knew Flynn had committed a felony — lying to the FBI. Ten-FBI director James Comey said earlier this year that the president told him to go easy on Flynn the day after the firing. Trump has denied telling Comey that.  Interfering in an FBI's investigation could be construed as obstructing justice, potentially creating legal jeopardy for Trump, (NBC news)

Also we will n ow have to deal with the restructuring of the tax code. There will be no way that the final Senate/House compromised bill will help the average middle class I fact most pundits including myself agree that the true benefits will be large Corporations and rich taxpayers Trump and peers.
The real block buster was the announcement of CVS purchase of Aetna Insurance, the second largest health insurer in the US. There is no way that this will be beneficial to the health care that you and I receive.

Instead I anticipate greater restrictions on available “providers”; trained physicians and hospitals. The day of an individual doctor making an informed decision about a patients medication or treatment his disappearing in this age of mega-hospital chains and insurers whose main goals are the bottom line.

According to the LA Times   (http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-hiltzik-cvs-aetna-20171204-story.html) “The truth is that the CVS/Anthem merger isn’t being driven by a desire to help ordinary Americans manage their healthcare costs better. It’s driven by the desire to fend off scary new competitors in the healthcare industry, such as Amazon and Wal-Mart. Will it save money? Hardly” Indeed the CVS has referred to patients as “customers” no longer as “ consumers” and long forgotten  as “a  patient”, a human being with health care issues.

ADDENDUM -ACLU
The Supreme Court just allowed Trump’s illegal, unconstitutional Muslim ban to go into full effect while it is being litigated. That is at present in 2 US District Courts.

And from the Washington Post
President Trump's endorsement of Senate nominee Roy Moore on Monday prompted the Republican National Committee and a pro-Trump super PAC to re-enter the state, boosting a candidate who had been largely cut off by his party.
