This weekend would have been a lost one since I did nothing out of the house that I should have been doing. I did spend it trying to "clean up the paper mess" in my computer room. Wold have made significant headway if DAWG had not insisted on playing. Unfortunately he wants to play on his terms; "chase me if you want to throw that ball". Otherwise if I am reading or sitting my lap is the only place comfortable for his 20lbs.
Except for a trip to the drug store and to say hello to Rev. Brown who for the second time in two weeks happened to be in the same store as I it was a home-bound weekend.
No college football game of interest for me. The Baseball league championships do not involve teams that I am interested in. And on Sunday although the New York Metropolitan area is supposed to have two professional football teams my TV failed to locate either one. The Hockey season has begun and the Rangers seem to have joined the Jets, and FB Giants, as well as the Mets and Yankees.

The media news only featured the
usual murders and other crimes. The only outstanding news was the hope for to
be avoided infection with Ebola of a person who had come in treatment contact
with Duncan, the Liberian who died from it in Dallas. 100% success to prevent
Ebola from occurring in the USWA is most unlikely. The best hope is to keep it
contained to a minimum.
It has been this close -2weeks-to Election
Day remarkable how quiet the preelection
days have been.Locally the only contested elections are for representatives elected
by the 3rd Ward. Of course Councilwoman Williams also represents the
2nd Ward. There is a US Senate race, who are the Republicans
running?
The other race of importance locally
is for the 3 School Board positions. There are 2 slates plus 1 individual
running in this nonpolitical election. Since one slate has been supported by
Jerry Green it must be assumed that the force behind the other is John
Campbell.
Will the League of Woman Voters hold
a candidates forum this year or has Pat Turner Kavanaugh’s death upset any
plans?
I am still getting a few comments

taxes or rent, your business. But obviously, you think money grows on trees. In
reality it comes from those of us who are not subsidized by the government.
In other words, Taylor's pension,
and lack of payment of PMUA is my business because I am her boss. I pay her
council salary, I paid into the pension she collects, and her lack of paying
PMUA means we all have to make up for HER!

Tuesday night is the Council
Meeting. Something exciting and not ridiculous may take place.
Dorien Hurtt, an incumbent, is the one individual running. Although Dorien Hurtt ran on the slate with the Campbell’s four years ago, he made the decision to run solo, in this manner, ensuring that his motives and votes is truly in the best interest of the children. Dorien Hurtt is the only one running that is completely INDEPENDENT. You have one slate handpicked by Assemblymen Green, head of Union Country Democrats and the other slate handpicked by Republicans John and Wilma Campbell. For a race that’s consider to be non- political, one can certainly conclude that the amount of money being spent on the Campbell and Green slate’s proves that it’s truly all about politics and the control of the $170 million budget. We all know it’s all about politics, who control the budget, who control the contracts and who control the jobs. Is there any surprise we have a failing school system? You have to question the slogan “KEEP CHILDREN THE PRIORITY” It’s evident that they haven’t been the priority, so how about “LET’S START MAKING OUR CHILDREN THE PRIORITY” !

Just found out the Campbell’s Republican slate for the board of education seats is hosting Cornell West, here's a quote from Mr West about our first African American President -

If Obama is a Repubulican in disguise that may explain why Jerry did not support him until after he won the nomination.
