No blog today but lots of excuses.
The good ones; (1) No real outstanding news local or otherwise for comment, (2) Any commentary about Obamacare needs a thoughtful documentation which takes time, (3) Only one Candidates' Forum, the LWV on 10/30/ at Emerson School worthwhile. That is not to denigrate Sunday's NAACP forum which Benice (Plaintalker II ) covered but hoping ALL candidates will be at the professionally conducted League of Women Voters shindig.
The bad but true excuses; (1) a horrible UVA football game, five Georgia Tech turnovers and not a single point earned. Once again could not score from the "red zone", (2) an atrocious Jets game,the less said the better, (3) a ridiculous Giants game in which they could not score a touchdown but did beat a team without a quarterback, (4) Two good World Series games; one the House of David (Red Sox) won with one hit, the other they lost on an historic never before game ending decision making "Blocking call", (5) a good honest hour nap during the Jets game , (6) anticipation of PT today, (7) a cat who has decided that he does not like any of the can food offered and regurgitates the dry food which he overeats, (7) recurring computer problems with external hard drives (time frustrating) and a disc drive that seems to seize the computer any time a disc is loaded before start up. That is a non-problem except with the boss. (8)best of all overslept.
Hopefully I will have a subjective blog for Tuesday.

I attended both the Masjidullah and the NAACP candidate forums, and each was run professionally and provided all the participating candidates more than adequate leeway to sink or swim. The range of questions covered most of the usual topics, and I don't think much difference will be seen with a 'professional-certified' LWV moderator. The crowd at Emerson will undoubtedly be larger and more varied, but that unfortunately speaks to the obvious divisions within the city which, hopefully, any new administration will be trying to put an end to. One thing of interest you come away with if you attend more than one forum, is listening to how candidates try to improve their messaging, or not. No one, incumbents included, knows all, but their innate ability to get better as an elected official is often on display beforehand in these candidate venues. They are all of value, and none are less 'worthwhile' than any other.

I do kinow that George can handle himself adroitly in a forum and have no quibble with him as a moderator.I have found the LVW forums to be more heterogeneous in its audience. For that reason I prefer tht forum, and the candidaters should have polished their presentations by then.I was not being down-putting the other earlier forums although that may be the impression.
