I don't think I have survived, however there are more important things than survival to write about such as the shenanigans in DC or the Obama Insurance Exchanges fiasco.
Never the less this is a time out weekend; Midnight Madness, College Football, BB championship series, and something called Jets and Giants. All of this is great for an excuse not to be serious.
Once again a team's name is under fire as being disrespectful. I am referring to the Redskins. I would think that the intent of the name should count. There is probably very few identity names that would not offended someone unless it was an inanimate object.
The way the Giants are playing should be offensive to every 6 footer plus. At least the St. Louis Cardinals not the Plainfield Cardinals should keep those birds from resenting the use of their name.
It is still the political silly season. In an important election for Senator less than 25% of the electorate cast a ballot. Shades of BOE elections. In two plus weeks we will have an important election and there is little likely hood of any surprises; but if the turnout is light one could happen.
Add to this weeks idiots collection those three Boy Scout Leaders in Utah (I believe) who toppled an eons old natural rock formation to make a video for You-tube. Shades of the book burners! They must be Republicans; oh not the disenfranchised majority of that party but the anti-everything extreme right NRA supporters whose agenda would be equally destructive as the far left give everything away Democrats.
What are the odds that in the next three months Congress and Administration will come up with fiscal planning that will result in a revision of the tax structure and an depth reevaluation of all entitlement programs. We can not every continue to get another credit card (increased debt ceiling) to max out.
Next week a return to a more serious blog.

There may be surprises in the upcoming election with more than a few local Republicans winning in contested districts. By drawing Booker, and his dominant popularity among black voters, away from the general election and thereby suppressing that vote, Christie may get a few Rs to ride his coattails into office. Besides, I also believe CC wanted to ensure that Booker would win by not giving Lonegan a coattail ride. Why would CC want Democrat Booker? Why not? Booker's smart, a star, a great interview, he'll get great committee assignments as a member of the majority party, he's committed to New Jersey (as opposed to an national ideology, mostly southern and western), and he's already a buddy (as opposed to a pain in the butt like SL). And baring a real scandal Booker will get re-elected as many times as he wants so his power will only grow. Lonegan would have be in trouble after the first national interview. It's a no brainer for the big guy, he just had to hide his plan in plain sight.
