March madness starts out with the weather. For us “couchers”
the rest of the month will be men’s basketball. Then it will be “Go Mets” or the boring Bombers.
For those with any interest in world affairs especially emanating
from DC perhaps you know that the US has 41 vacancies in Ambassadors including to
some important allies: South Korea where
tensions ab out North Korea is at a peak; our Middle East stabilizers against
Iran and radical Islam, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt our European bulkward Germany.
Our key vacant posts are in Turkey where
relationships are strained but we have a need to protect the Kurds, as well as
newly recognized Cuba. Trump does not have a personal envoy to the European
Union which could be important in relationships with an aggressive Russia.
This week Putin not only boasted that he had supper atomic
weapons that could not be interscepted and had the potential to strike anywhere
in the world including Florida. He also said he would use them in any attack on
Russia or its allies (North Koreas?).
Admist the White House chaos and turmoil PONTUS managed to antagonize
the President of Mexico as well as the prime minister of Germany.
He continues to attack his “Mr. Magoo” aka as, Secretary of
Justice. Sessions. This may be related to the Mueller investigaton.
Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating whether any of Jared
Kushner's business discussions with foreigners during the presidential
transition later shaped White House policies in ways designed to either
benefit or retaliate against those he spoke with, according to witnesses
and other people familiar with the investigation.(USA TODAY 3/2/18)
