MONDAY-TUEUSDAY POTPOURRI

For the moment we will put aside the Charleston tragedy but will not forget its significance and may address that in the near future.

Today’s media; TV, Electronic, and most newsprint in their reports seem to focus on murders and accidents as the lead items plus shilling for their parent companies products with only little if any news of world events. To get some knowledge it is important to review either the print copy or the online edition of the New York Times, the WSJ, and the Washington Post.

Nowhere on the main channel news hours have I heard any mention of Putin’s threat to the USA if we go ahead and put tanks in the Baltic Counties to reinforce what troops we have there. Or, who is aware that the Ayatollah has said that he will not permit inspection of any nuclear sites on military property. That the puppet Iran Parliament has voted to support that policy.

By the end of this month the US and the European nations are supposed to sign an agreement with Iran. Will we do so and back down on our statements that all criteria had to be agreed upon by Iran.

Or will we listen to Israel’s concerns? Not only will this will be the defining element in Obama’s foreign policy but will have an impact on our future.

But that too should be the subject of future blogs.

Instead I will briefly remind all that we are in the early stages of the Silly Season. Do these names have anything in common or any meaning to you the reader?

Skip Andrews, Michael Bickelmeyer, Kerry Bowers, Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Dale Christensen. Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Brooks Cullison, John Dummett, Jr., Mark Everson, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Jim Hayden, Chris Hill, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, Michael Kinlaw, Dennis Michael Lynch, George Pataki , Rand Paul, Rick Perry, Michael Petyo, Marco Rubio, Brian Russell, Rick Santorum, Donald Trump, Scott Walker.

Yes, they are all announced or expected to announce soon that they are candidates for the Republican nomination for President. The only one the Ledger seems to be aware of is our Governor Christie, who is a subject of at least one bashing daily in that paper.

The polls that abound are not trustworthy at this point in time as there are many parameters in the questioning including the participant pool and the wording of the questions themselves that can influence their findings. Too many polls can be just propaganda tools.
