TODAY'S DELAY

Every Saturday before a Council meeting I  and others would go to the Library to review the support material for the items that were going to be presented at the meeting. Every preceding Friday night AJ has made available by the Internet the printed agenda.

This Saturday there seems to be no reason to make that informatics tr ip; there has been no  posting of any agenda.

Perhaps that is due to the fact that the Council n its  wisdom decided to combine the a half hour agenda setting session with the business meeting for Tuesday Nov. 12. Monday is  Veteran's Day and all city offices will be closed..

As matters stand perhaps the Council has received no material from members of this lame duck Administration that has 2 days to go. There have been rumors that some Department and Division  heads are no longer in their offices. If no letter of resignation has been received and they are not functioning I would trust they are not still being paid.

At this point it seems that the only thing we can be sure of for the meeting is the Council will function with a prayer.

At 12:30 am AJ posted the agendas for the combined Tuesday meetings. My day is now complete; football at 1pm.

11:30 AM: The situation has not reached the FUBAR level; but somehow the Library copy of the agendas and support documents  had not arrived. I will not have a chance to review and comment on the material before Tuesday which will be last minute at best.

There are no proposed items  from the Executive branch.

Yes there are several items of interest that clarification is essential:
Resolution G: "requesting a change in title,text, or amount of appropriation. This is very broad and could represent one of our leaders famous redirection of funds.

Resolution K: authorizing transfer between the CY 2013 appropriations of thee general fund  of the city. The substance of these changes may be important.

Ordinance MC2013-11 creating a "Chief of Staff" position. Is this a Mapp inspired move to have a new administrative person in place  Jan. 1? Are the duties similar to those  charged to the City Administrator? At least this is only for first reading

Tuesday night may be interesting, or a railroad..
