LEGISLATOR'S BRILLIANCY

Tuesday's elections include candidates for the Council. The Council with the aid of the Corporation Counsel writes Ordinances which become Laws. Sometimes myopic law makers let their personal agenda prejudices overcome common sense and we get the following:

Dumb New Jersey Laws (Note: All cited laws are real and currently in effect, and have been verified for authenticity by practicing attorney Nathan Belofsky, Esq., the world's leading authority on strange laws.)
  1.  In the State of New Jersey, no egg shall be broken that has a putrefactive odor and the rots.
  2.  In theTownship of Parsippany/Troy Hills, New Jersey, firing a potato cannon is against the law
  3.  In Paterson, New Jersey, it’s illegal for an ice cream peddler to be annoying.
  4.  In Haddon Township, New Jersey, it’s a crime for a person to appear “in a dress not belonging to his sex.”
  5.   5.      In Deerfield, New Jersey, windmills may not interfere with the view.
     6.      In Haddon Township, New Jersey, a person may not flirt with another against their will, or entice them into doing indecent  acts.
7       In Ruthorford, New Jersey, a person on roller skates must obey a stop sign.
     8.      In Ridgewood, New Jersey, it’s a crime to discharge silly string in public. *
