I hope to get to the Library this morning (Monday Dec. 20) and review the agenda resolutions for tonight's meeting. If so I will post any additional comments to yesterdays blog early this afternoon.
I have had what is perhaps a wild thought but in contemplating Assemblyman Green's proposed law regarding members of the BOEs, that perhaps he would consider sponsoring one that would require a psychological evaluation of all candidates for any elected office in the state to be certain that there is no potential personality defect that might impair their proper functioning in office. To carry this thought further appointed or selected members of Boards, Authority Governors, commissions might also be subject to such evaluation.
Just a dream. We live in a world where too many given some degree of power often abuse it sometime out of ignorance as to ethics or conflicts and others who just sought the position for purely personal interests.
I was pleased to note that in yesterday's "Clips" Dan had a reference to "County Watchers" regarding the UCIA proposal for solar panels. I have previously noted that I felt it could not make economic sense for Plainfield even if PSEG had not placed all the possible solar panels on poles that it might need. The little KW that the three Plainfield installation would develop can not justify the potential risk if the "developer" goes bankrupt. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
That item is supposed to be on the special meeting agenda. If so I hope this Council will not make a snap judgement.

FYI- Like all too many vendors who win public contracts, Tioga Energy's was the lone proposal received by the county. It's another 'fair and open' bidding process where the public trough feeders have a fair chance to make off with what's in the taxpayer's open wallet. Buyer beware.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that the new law Jerry Green is pushing, under some one else's name, is just another waste of taxpayer money. The legislature, like the NJEA, used our children's safety as an issue. It that's the issue, then simply require that everyone running for any public office be required to have a background check. Wait a minute! That means that most of our legislature could not run. Too bad for these fools in Trenton. Stop voting them in again and again people!!!
ReplyDeleteA Psyche test for bloggers would be good too as there are a few who are suspect.
ReplyDelete12:33 pm You could be right and there are a few who might fail. Some have been known to revise their blogs several days after posting and pretending it is teh original. Sometimes some bloggers make comments to other blogs as anonymous and they espe3cially should be tested. Perhaps all who make nasty remarks as anonymous truly need psychological help. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI think some should take the time to revise their post as it reads like crap, contains a ridiculous amount of spelling errors, are visually appauling instead of letting it stand simply because it is original.
ReplyDelete12:33/1:36pm Thank you for your opinion. I believe that all us bloggers will take your commenst to heart.
ReplyDeletePromise?
ReplyDeletecommenst not misspelling but my left hand finger working faster than teh(this is a routine error for THE) right hand.
