MORE ABOUT REDEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL

After reading Sunday’s TAP report about the October 4th action of the Plainfield Planning Board, and I quote: “PLAINFIELD, NJ - After a busy section of South Avenue near Terrill Road was declared in need, and a redevelopment plan was ordered, Plainfield's Planning Board moved Thursday to advance the project to a vote by the City Council. According to the plan, permitted uses that would "enhance the vitality of South Avenue and the gateway entrance to the City";.\ I was more confused than usual about Plainfield’s Council ‘s Agenda.
How could R330-18 be on this agenda which was formatted at the Agenda Fixing Session of Oct.1 three days before the Planning Board requested the Council to vote on it.  This resolution is not listed as a “NEW ITEM” Also why would such a resolution be included among the Consent Agenda on the agenda I comment about after I read Friday’s City Clerk’s posting???
Obviously, this Council, and Administration have no ethical regard or proper procedures or the “law”. Curiously Sunday when I rechecked the  City Clerk’s link there were NO ITEMS list as on the Consent Agenda. Apparently  that Agenda is in flux not fixed up to the time of the meeting.
As to the  proposal-which I suspect started with a redeveloper before even being presented by Economic Development for consideration I have many unanswered questions. Why is a 7/11 on the corner not included in the properties that supposedly need redevelopment? Why is a non commercial lot on Terrill Road part of the area?  Why are three Restaurants that are some of the few attractions to Plainfield for non residents included? What and why are the  3 residential lots included? Yes the north side of South Ave. up to Terrill Rd is in need of redevelopment, but if popular restaurants  on the south side are to go what is the status of the Dairy Queen/ If different why?
With All the new apartment/condo development s in Fanwood, Garwood and Cranford adjacent to a RR station who thinks that studio, one and two-bed room apartments over retail uses here will attract “hot pockets” who would be interested in a “one train rid to NYS, a possibility which at best may be a decade or more if ever  a reality.? Indeed would they  not have a negative effect on the Down Town business area. Perhaps redevelopment should be focused there, a new gym is not a positive.
Among other possible area mixed use structures listed is a bank without a drive thru.
The only bank in Plainfield that still has a drive thru is the PNB near the Netherwood Station, the others no longer care
Another child care facility, or roof wireless antennas or night club or hotel (for whom) etc. as suggested is just poppy cock not reality.
Who needs a cigar lounge in this day and age?  Why would a theater be a success there? Yes, that whole list of possible users is nothing more than BS.
Lots of questions and no answers. Even if given they would unreal.
