Blogging has to take a temporary back seat. The first two
weeks of 2018 are complicated with doctor’s appointments and other time
consuming chores. If the power stays on, and the big freeze doesn’t hit the
short exposed piece of pipe in the garage all should be well thanks to a space
heater.
Once upon a time the Council met twice monthly; 1st
and 3rd Mondays except July and August the vacation months when
there was only one meeting each month. The Councilors received their package in
time if they wished to be familiar with the agenda. This year our hard pressed
Councilors will earn their self-imposed raise by having 5 combined one monthly
meeting; up one from 2017.
Additionally they will abandon the traditional
Monday night meeting date this fall in favor of Tuesday night. There was a
practice in the past for skipping the day before the general election in favor
of the next Monday. If a holiday fell on the meeting date the meeting might occur on Tuesday. That does not seem to be an unexplained factor.
Did you notice that there are 8 voided Monday/Thursday PMUA
waste pickups? Compare that to one for the other group. I bet that there is no accountable
adjustment in bills.
