Tonight (Tuesday) marks the beginning of the most holy day in the Jewish faith..

YOM KIPPUR 

Lasts for 24 hours and the most committed healthy individuals fast the entire period

It is a time for reflection and to  atone not only one's sins against others and above all the word of the Lord; but most important to forgive others for their sins against you.
It also is the time to remember ones loved ones who have passed away.

If only all the people of the Bible (Torah) would  use the meaning
 this day for their own transgressions.
