KITCHEN HEAT

Harry S. Trueman, the accidental President, who I consider to have been one of the greatest Presidents in this nation's history, first used the phrase " If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the Kitchen" in 1942. During his political career he repeated it with minor variations many times.

His other most noteworthy quote as President is "The buck stops here".

There are many others that deserve repeating and remembering. Among them are these two;

"A leader in the Democratic Party is a boss, in the Republican Party he is a leader"

"You know that being an American is more than a matter of where your parents came from. It is a belief that all men are created free and equal and that everyone deserves an even break".

Please note that this posting is just an after thought to the two I posted earlier today.

  1. He was true, but I think it was Truman.
