ATTENTION WARDS 1, 2, & 3 VOTERS

Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you! -- Pericles (430 B.C.)

ALERT: 1ST, 2ND, 3RD Ward Democrat and Non-Affiliated Voters, Tomorrow is your chance to bring sanity into Plainfield Government.

DO NOT VOTE for any of the LINE A COUNCIL CANDIDATES. A vote for Tolliver, Eke, and Taylor is a vote to continue machine boss Green’s control over Plainfield.

Today another “Paid for Jerry Green for Assembly” flier with the more of the mudslinging inaccuracies came in the mail plus charges that the M*f* video is false and doctored and is part of Williams' campaign.

There has not been a single document that I have received telling us of the qualifications of the 3 line A Council candidates. Nor can there ever be an unvarnished one. But I will try.

Diane Toliver is the wife of former PMUA commissioner who sided with Dunn and Sanders to give the former PMUA executives a million dollars gift. Officials who voluntarily resign and were not terminate are not entitled to separation bonuses.

Eke after a berating episode of a Council which had not approve of his being appointed was subsequently appointed to the PMUA  video segment that Green has called false and doctored.

Taylor after 5 months as Jerry Green’s, not the City Democrat Committee’s one of three choices, has admitted her close ties to JG. Along with her no/yes pontifications her vote have followed Reid’s and Greaves” line.

I have already written why and who I am supporting in those wards. I cannot compare them with the line A candidates since there is no equality.

FIRST FOR TODAY

Tomorrow is primary election day. In Plainfield that means whomever receives the Democrat nomination will hold the office next year.

Once again Dottie G this morning, has addressed the issue in her blog: Dottieg.wordpress.com/2014/06/01/thoughts-on-election-eve/

I will post my own Potpourri later this morning. Suffice to say Jerry Green has proven that he is no longer capable of being the leader of Plainfield’s political wellbeing.

A vote for any of his hand selected candidates, is a vote for bad misdirected government. Be so advised.

A PLUG FOR EL-AMIN

To vote Tuesday is critical. The 8K Independents especially those in the 1st ward can make the difference especially if they are voting for the first time as a party affiliate they can be registered as a Democrat at the polls.

I have already remarked that if I could vote in the 1st Ward I would vote for Siddeeq El-Amin as not only as a better qualified  candidate in that ward but the most deserving due to his long history of civic service in Plainfield.

Unfortunately he does not have a slate to back him, but is an uncommitted Democrat without the resources of the line candidate who will continue the  controlled agendas which have  been the hallmark of the City Committee's Councilors.

This was received as a comment to my Sunday's blog, but I feel needs greater exposure than as a comment.
Plainfield, as we head into the Tuesday Primary Elections, let’s try to summarize what has happened over the past two months.

For the first time in years, we now have valid choices for each of the Ward elections. We can choose to remain the same and vote for the same party candidates that have been forced upon us in a non-democratic process or we can choose to vote for change and forward progress with candidates that have your very best interests at heart.

Specifically in the First Ward, there are three candidates for City Council, and remember, they are ALL Democrats in a democratic primary election. We don’t need that entire name calling about who is the “real Democrat.” The first candidate is the ‘standard party candidate’ that is linked by family to the PMUA million dollar give away and alleged improper compensation benefits. Don’t you wish your company would give you a million tax dollars when you retire or quit?

The second candidate is relatively new to Plainfield. He says he moved here a couple of years ago into the Monarch Apartment complex and became active in the tenant organization and was recently (January 2014) appointed to the Plainfield Planning Board. He has a financial background with PSEG. I don’t know him personally, but I believe he has an active future in Plainfield.

I, Siddeeq W. El-Amin, Line F-7, am the third candidate for the First Ward City Council Seat. I have been civicly active in Plainfield since the mid-70’s, starting with the Plainfield Board of Education and its then Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ron Lewis, after we moved to Plainfield in 1973. I was a football coach for the PHS 8th and 9th grade teams from 1978-1979, after which in 1980 I joined the Plainfield Police Division, retiring as Captain of Police after almost 30 years of unblemished service, with two years as Director of Public Affairs and Safety. My family has been continuously active in community service in Plainfield. We have always been registered Democrats, not undecided like one of the candidates. My full platform is available for review on my web pages at http://www.ElAmin4CityCouncil.com. Can you find theirs? I haven’t.

Plainfield voters, this election is not about party loyalty but about loyalty to Plainfield residents. Let’s begin to be “Loyal to Plainfield and Plainfield will be loyal to us” to update a candidate quote. Vote for continued change and progress. Vote for the candidates that will represent YOU and US, not them and party bosses. Elect Siddeeq W. El-Amin, Line F-7, for First Ward City Council. Let’s begin the change for a new vision for Plainfield!

PLAINFIELD'S POLITICAL CRISIS

Respected Dottie Gutenkauf, a lifelong liberal Democrat and committed supporter of the local party but first of all an outspoken opponent of any attack on civil and civic rights has for the first time supported those who oppose the party’s chairperson.

She has done so several times in the past few days in her blog: Dottieg.wordpress.com

Freedom of speech does not exist in Green’s world.

Once again money and political power are used as weapons. Those who oppose Green are always threatened. This time he has gone too far in have is attorney issue cease and desist warnings to two bloggers who have aroused his ire by reproducing a video segment that reveals what many consider to be the true Jerry Green.

David Rutherford has posted on his blog an explanation why he has acceded to Asm. Green’s threat of legal action if he did not remove the infamous “mother” video and other postings that the Plainfield Party Chairman felt was to be offensive.

But that lawyer transmitted threat contains some potential violations of the law and ethics.

Has Rick Williams committed perjury in his affidavit about the incident? Could Attorney Kraig M Dowd be in ethical violation by using that affidavit which upon review of the video is at best questionable; as part of the basis of the “threatening letter”?

But equally important is the question; on Tuesday will the voters in the 1st,2nd, 3rd Wards finally come to their sense and reject the candidates selected by Plainfield’s minor league Putin and vote for better qualified individuals whose interest and dedication is for a better Plainfield?

I hope so.
