One of then meanings of the “golden years” is to enrich
the Health Care system. I have now added two more doctors to my list of five.
But it beats the alternative.
That said let’s talk about transparency and Plainfield’s
government. Once again even after using two different browsers I was unable to
open from the linked agenda, any resolution or subordinate documents. It would be of little difference
because the puppet Council will approve with out discussion everything on the
agenda of the immediately following business meeting.
I did note however that two known engineer donor firms
were awarded a total of 5 contracts; Pennon a total of almost $276k AND Remington
and Vernick a measly $34,900!
In DC, shades of Iraq and the Cheney/Bush claim of absolute
intelligence evidence that Saddam Hussein had a stockpile of weapons of mass
destruction that lead to the Gulf war and destabilization of the Mid-East. No weapons
were ever found.
Now Trump claims that we have indisputable evidence that
Iran not only sabotage two tankers, but one was hit by a torpedo. He has claimed
that the statement by the captain of one ship that it was an airborne missile that
hit his vessel as “false news”.
Whom can we believe? A claim from the master of lies and
misinformation, or what he terms the “FAKE NEWS MEDIA”.
The fact that there is tape showing the Iran vessel removing a magnet attached mine does not prove that Iran attached it. A third party could have and the Iran vessel spotted it. (6-16 4:45 pm)

Each of us has to believe what he wants;, and hope that we
do not get into an unwarranted conflict. If Iran is guilty of attacks on
neutral shipping, then we and all the free nations should punish them. Then the
only question is the means and how.
Iran, being the honorable nation that they are, snuck a boat of commandos up to the side of a tanker at night, without communicating to anyone, to remove a charge that they did not plant? Hmmmm
ReplyDeletei DID NOT SAY iRAN WAS NOT GUILTY OF PLANTING A MINE, BUT OUR PREVIOUS HISTORY AND OUR POTUS RAISES QUESTION ABOUT RELIABILITY.
ReplyDeleteDoc Just a thought. Regarding the long past and almost forgotten Yates demolition fiasco, the Insurance Carrier for the Contractors sued their clients, the Contractors, and Remington and Vernick, the project engineers, in an attempt to recover their payout for the collateral damages to the adjacent structure. I don't know the outcome. If Remington and Vernick had an inspector, and particularly if the inspector was a professional engineer registered in New Jersey, they may be found culpable for not having ordered a cessation to the operations when it was observed that debris was falling on and damaging the adjacent building? Whether this had any influence on the current decision to reduce R & V's customary volume of services I don't know? Examination of the cost of legal services raises some interesting questions. Our City Councilor receives a $9,500/month retainer. His billings do not identify the scope of work performed during the monthly billing period. Is this sum a guarantee, or is it an advance for a specified number of hours? This retainer only comprises a portion of the City's legal costs. This is understandable in that many of the firms retained are specialists in their particular field. Notable, was that Mr Mincello's firm performed approximately $65,000 worth of legal work in 2017, and $55,000 in 2018, these sum exclusive of and in addition to his retainer. This may be fitting and proper. However, the question the Council should ask is what is the scope of Mr. Minchello's services for which he receives the retainer? How is the judgment made as to when that scope is exceeded and his firm picks up the baton? When Mr. Minchello appears before the Council to at long last explain how the Yates $214,000 contract ultimately cost the City approximately $620,000 he will have an opportunity to provide an explanation regarding all these matters.
