Saturday night’s Orlando killings will call again for reconsideration
of “Gun Laws”
The shooter although having been on the FBI list was no
longer considered as dangerous and therefore his name
had been removed from the restricted list. The gun seller had done the required
checks and had no reason not to sell him the guns.
There will constantly be slipups on who can or cannot buy a
gun. It is impossible to control how guns reach the street. What is possible however
is to prohibit the sale of assault weapons such as the rifle used in Orlando as
well as by the San Bernardino killers and other mass shooters? This is a
minimal must.
Also stricter penal punishment for possession of an unlicensed
weapon or the sale to known criminals is a must.
